KJR JUJUTSU TRAINING DETAILS

Unarmed self defence training: striking, throwing, grappling, defence against weapons, joint-locking and related combat.

Training Times (beginners and intermediate)

Monday & Wednesday 6.30pm - 8.30pm Regular special workshops and grading sessions

KJR KOBUDO TRAINING DETAILS

Armed and unarmed defence training: jujutsu strategies of using and defending against Japanese sword (katana), staff (jo), short stick (tanbo), tanto (knife) and other weapons.

Location: Outdoor sessions

Pine Forest, corner of Masson and Watson Streets, off Northbourne Avenue (left of Scout Hall), Turner, Canberra City. ACT.

  • Saturday 9.00am - 11.30am (outdoor)
  • Thursday 12.15pm - 1.45pm (Belconnen Community Centre Main Hall).
  • Beginners Introductory Course (3 month)

External Japan Weapons Training

KJR members and interested beginners also have access to non-institute Iaido (sword) and Jodo (staff) training with the Canberra Iaido and Jodo (CIJ) group. CIJ is a member of the ACT Kendo Renmei (ACTKR), an affiliate of the Australian Kendo Renmei (AKR). The AKR provides opportunities to study under leading Japanese Instructors of the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (All Japan Kendo Federation). The AKR also sponsors Annual Australian Iaido and Jodo Championships.
